Skysmart were initially utilising another software package, well known to the MRO industry, but chose to switch to Aerotrac in April 2016. Company Director Joe Williams reflects on why they felt the need to change.
“Skysmart was a fledgling start-up business and the cost of the MRO solution used by the organisation initially, was prohibitive and represented poor value for money. The software was geared to parts distribution – which makes perfect sense for organisations involved in rotable distribution, but the MRO functionality was limited at best. We asked Company Director Andy Webb what impact he feels Aerotrac has made:
“It’s made a very positive contribution to the business. We were creating work-arounds to manage the short-comings the other system, which was time-consuming. Aerotrac is now the single source of information for almost everything from a technical, commercial and even a financial perspective.”
The inventory management side is very accurate and robust, so we know what we need to order and when. Joe & I could see immediately what Aerotrac had to offer, so we made sure we invested sufficient time and effort into the implementation to be sure of getting the very best out of it and to keep costs down. Joe and I have both used other systems before, and Aerotrac is head and shoulders above those.
